When you perform an NFC tap of an authenticated Nymi Band, the reader does not detect the tap and the authentication event does not complete.
Cause
The following Elatec readers require a firmware upgrade:
- Systec ConnectBox (that uses an Elatec TWN4 MultiTech 3 (module))
- Systec Keyboard with RFID Reader
- Elatec TWN4 USB Front Reader
- Elatec TWN4 MultiTech 2 (BLE)
- Elatec TWN4 LEGIC NFC USB
- Elatec TWN4 Palon Compact Panel
Resolution
1. Ensure that you install the driver for the Elatec reader and the Smart Card Slot reader from the DevPack.
2. Determine the bootloader version of your reader. The bootloader version appears on the underside of the NFC reader below the model number, as highlighted in the following figure.
3. Download the appropriate firmware for your reader.
When the bootloader version is B1.08:
- Elatec TWN4 USB Front Reader: TWN4_NJx402_Y1SC160_Nano_CCID_1Slot_NYMI.bix
- Systec ConnectBox, Systec Keyboard with RFID Reader, Elatec TWN4 MULTITECH 2 or 3 NFC USB, Elatec TWN4 LEGIC NFC USB, and TWN4 Palon Compact Panel: TWN4_xJx402_Y1SC160_Multi_CCID_1Slot_NYMI.bix
When the bootloader version is B1.64:
- Systec ConnectBox, Systec Keyboard with RFID Reader, Elatec TWN4 MULTITECH 2 or 3 NFC USB, Elatec TWN4 LEGIC NFC USB, and TWN4 Palon Compact Panel: TWN4_xJx464_Y1SC160_Multi_CCID_1Slot_NYMI.bix
NOTE: You require the AppBlaster tool from the Elatec DevPack to upgrade the firmware on the NFC reader.
4. Plug in the NFC reader, and run the AppBlaster application in the unzipped directory.
5. Click on Program Firmware Image.
6. Click on Read Version. A TWN4 reader should be detected.
7. Click on Select Image, and choose the Firmware/<reader>.bix file.
8. Click on Program Image.
NOTE: If you get the error "Device not found", the you system policies might prevent write operations from occurring on USB devices.
